Archana Sharma was an Indian Gynaecologist who is known for coming to the limelight after committing suicide in March 2022 in Rajasthan.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Archana Sharma was born in 1980 in a Hindu family in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
She got married to Dr. Suneet Upadhyaya on 1 March 2010. They have a son and a daughter whose names are Raghav and Shambhavi respectively.
EDUCATION
Archana Sharma did her schooling at Sacred Heart School, Ranchi. She has done MBBS and MD (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
CAREER
Archana Sharma held the position of associate professor and unit head in Government Medical College, Gujarat, India. Later, she joined her husband at Anand Hospital, Lalsot.
AWARDS
Archana Sharma won the award for the best orator at the National Conference of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
DEATH
Archana Sharma did more than 500 successful deliveries. She was accused of the murder of Asha Bairwa, 22 years old woman. Archana was the delivery doctor for Asha and she performed a successful delivery but after some time, Asha died due to a Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). Asha’s family took her dead body home but after some time they came back with a BJP leader and police along with the body. They started to gather people. The Police filed an FIR against Archana under section 302.
Archana got afraid because of the FIR and decided to commit suicide. She left a suicide note in which she wrote that she loves her family and doesn’t harass them after my death. She didn’t commit any mistakes, did not kill anyone. And she also wrote,” DON’T HARASS INNOCENT DOCTORS”.
After some time her husband demanded justice for his wife. Even IMA also demanded justice for Archana Sharma. The Chief Minister expressed his sympathy and ordered to the removal of SP and SHO of the Dausa District.
