Ramesh Babu is a barber who runs a hair cutting and styling business. Politicians, military personnel, and movie stars such as Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are among his clients.
He is highly passionate about expensive automobiles and takes great care of them.
PERSONAL
Ramesh’s father, who operated a small salon, died in 1989, leaving the barbershop as his main means of livelihood. Despite this, his mother began working as a domestic helper after leasing the shop for Rs 5 each day.
Ramesh decided to handle his father’s shop instead of furthering his education in 1994. The salon was called ‘Inner Space,’ and it was located in a retail centre near his school. It quickly become a fashionable styling source.
Ramesh bought a Maruti Omni in 1997 because he had always wanted to own one and began renting it to people for personal use. That became a watershed moment in his life. His reputation rose alongside the vehicle rental industry.
He was running a thriving cab firm called Ramesh Tours and Travels at the end of 1990.
He entered the premium car rental and self-drive sector in 2004.
CAR COLLECTION
His first car was a Mercedes E-Class luxury sedan for 38 lakh rupees. His fleet currently consists of over 200 cars, vans, and minibuses, including imported vehicles such as a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, Mercedes C, E, and S class, and BMW 5, 6, and 7 series. He has a fleet of Mercedes vans and Toyota minibuses imported from Germany.
He also has a fleet of 67 alternative vehicles for rent.
He drives to work in a Rolls Royce Ghost worth Rs 3.1 crore. This expensive car is owned by only five persons in the city. He had purchased it with his own money.
ABOUT
He hasn’t forgotten his roots, even today. He cuts hair for his regular customers for Rs 65. Despite his enthusiasm for vehicles, he will continue to cut hair as long as his hands are healthy.
The salon generates a small amount of revenue. However, he makes a fortune from the luxury automobile rental industry, making him one of India’s richest hairstylists.
