He was born into a Muslim household. In New Delhi, his father had a kite shop and worked as a watchmaker. His mother used to own a beauty parlour. Shahab’s father died when he was still a child. He has a brother named Saif Ali and a sister named Syed Saba Ali.
EDUCATION
Syed Shahab Ali attended Anglo Arabic Senior Secondary School in Delhi. Following that, he enrolled at Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi, and earned a B. A. there. He earned a postgraduate diploma in mass media and creative writing from Jamia Millia Islamia. He afterwards enrolled at New Delhi’s National School of Drama.
CAREER
Syed Shahab Ali began appearing in theatre productions while in college. He worked as a journalist after finishing college. He left journalism after a few months and joined NSD.
He has collaborated on various stage productions with notable performers like as Mohan Maharishi, Anuradha Kapur, Abhilash Pillai, and Ovlyakuli Khodjakuli. He has worked with ‘Kingdom of Dreams,’ India’s first live entertainment, theatre, and leisure destination.
He appeared in the 2018 film ‘Kedarnath’ in a minor part.
In 2019, he was cast in the Indian online television series ‘The Family Man,’ where he portrayed Sajid.
