Arpita Mukherjee was also implicated in the teacher recruitment scandal at the West Bengal School Service Commission after her arrest for allegedly being a close aide to TMC Minister Partha Chatterjee, who was also detained on July 23, 2022, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) (SSC). After a photo of Partha Chatterjee and Arpita attending a party while dressed in the same colour went viral on social media, the two became friends.
