Kusha Kapila is a well known Indian content writer, actress, and social media celebrity who works for the popular Indian media platform, iDiva. She is best known for playing the fictional character “Billi Maasi.”



Kusha Kapila was born on Tuesday, 19 September 1989 in Delhi. She grew up in North Delhi. Kusha is married to Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia (Employee at Diageo).

Kusha Kapila attended school in South Delhi. Kusha received her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Delhi University’s Indraprastha College for Women. She then went on to study at the National Institute of Fashion Technology for a Bachelor of Design.


In college, Kusha participated in theatre and performed in street plays. She originally wanted to work as a journalist. She began working at Bhartiya International as a Merchandising Intern after receiving her degree. After three months of employment there, she began an internship in product design at Chisell Effects in Noida.
In 2013, Kusha Kapila began working as a fashion correspondent for the Delhi-based company Apparel Online. She later worked for Fashion Forward Trends as a trend analyst and content writer. She joined Razorfish and began working as a copywriter in May 2014. She then worked as a content developer and head of digital content. She relocated to Times Internet in 2016 and began working there as a fashion editor. She then started working for iDiva as a writer before being promoted to fashion editor. Kusha began making videos for iDiva’s Facebook page.
She created the character “Billi Masi” while making the videos, and when it later became a huge hit, Kapila gained notoriety. She subsequently played a variety of other roles that the audience embraced. Abishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor are just two of the well-known Bollywood actors with whom Kusha has collaborated.


Kusha once got a backlash for stereotyping women in her videos, especially the South Delhi girls.
