Soumik Haldar

Soumik Haldar was born on February 19, 1965, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India is a Cinematographer and photographer known for his works in Bengali cinema and Bollywood. He is known for his works such as Chander Pahar, Nirbaak, Chotoder Chobi.

Soumik Haldar had been intrigued by movies and the art of filmmaking ever since he was in school. He took up a course at FTTI, where he met photographer Hari Nair, whom he later went on to help on the action drama Shool in 1999.

Making his launch into the film industry, Soumik was associated with the 2003 Bengali action drama Raasta, following which he went on to be a part of movies like Cross Connection, Akerti Premer Golpo, Ami Aadu, Baishe Srabon, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Obhishopto Nighty, Chotoder Chobi, Amazon Obhijaan, Mayurakshi and Asche Abar Shabor (2018). His other releases include Total Dadagiri (2018), Uma (2018), Uronchondi (2018), Villain (2018), and Durgeshgorer Guptodhon (2019), Gumnaami (2019), and Professor Shanku O El Dorado (2019). His 2020 releases include Dwitiyo Purush and Nirontor.
