Deepica Mutyala is a South Asian beauty entrepreneur and businesswoman, as well as the creator and CEO of Live Tinted, a multicultural beauty and culture community. She is well known for a 2015 YouTube video in which she used red lipstick to conceal her dark under eye bags. Mutyala was featured on The Today Show and The Dr. Oz Show within a few days. The video has received over 10 million views to date. Mutyala has since been published in the New York Times, CNN, Vogue, Marie Claire, Refinery29, and other publications.

Deepica committed her efforts as an on-air beauty expert, YouTuber, and activist from 2015 to 2018, partnering with companies on panels and marketing activities aimed at minority representation. She has collaborated with major beauty companies such as Estee Lauder Companies, Coty, LVMH, and Unilever, as well as businesses outside of beauty such as Mastercard, McDonald’s, and Mercedes Benz. She was also appeared in ads for L’Oreal and Samsung that aired during the 2018 Academy Awards.
Deepica established and launched Live Tinted, a digital platform and beauty product brand that investigates different beauty and offers products for “any shade in between,” in January 2018. The website provides underrepresented people a voice and shares their stories, highlighting their personal experiences with beauty, culture, and identity.
In May 2019, Live Tinted debuted its first product, the Huestick, an eye, lip, and cheek multistick that balances dark circles, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation, based on community feedback. The Huestick is vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, sulphates, and phthalates, with FDA-approved pigments for both eye and lip applications that do not contain carmine. Live Tinted’s community-driven product line is “disrupting 2019 beauty norms,” according to Forbes. The Huestick has received Elle’s Future of Beauty Award for Innovation and has been described as “magic in a pencil” by Good Morning America.
Bobbi Brown (founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics), Hayley Barna (co-founder of Birchbox), Payal Kadakia (founder of ClassPass), Andy Dunn (CEO and Co-founder of Bonobos), Jaimie Schmidt (founder of Schmidt Deodorant), Shivani Siroya (founder of Tala), and Shilpa Shah invested in Live Tinted in August 2019. (co-founder and CXO of Cuyana). Live Tinted intends to utilise the funds to grow its cosmetic product range, recruit additional employees, and develop new online interaction features.
