PERSONAL INFORMATION
Deviprasad was born on 17th March 2007 in Kerala’s Mallapuram. He is a young Carnatic music percussionist.
He is primarily adept at playing the Mridangam. His father’s name is Deepesh, a percussionist and clerk at Thirumandhamkunnu Devaswom, and Praseeda, a teacher at Al Fatah English Medium High School in Poopalam. Thiruvananthapuram native V Surendra is his guru.
Since a very young age, he has been performing at many Carnatic music concerts and has played along with many renowned musicians.
EDUCATION
Devi Prasad is a ninth-standard student of St. Joseph English Medium School in Puthanangadi. He has been studying percussion with a CCRT scholarship since the age of 10.
AWARD AND HONOR
He received many scholarships for his talent, where he conquered the world of music with his beats in Mridangam.
Devi Prasad got awarded by Pradhan Mantri ‘Rashtriya Bal Purushkar’ in 2022 and he also got a digital certificate, medals, and the cash prize of Rs.1,00,000. He got an award in the ‘Art and Culture category’.
ABOUT
He has been practicing the percussion instrument for three hours every day from the age of six years.
