She is married to Sanjay Phogat who is a politician. She has a daughter Yashodhara Phogat. Her nickname is Desa. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. Her hobbies are Dancing and listening to music. CAREER
Sonali started her career as an anchor in 2006 in Hisar Doordarshan. She joined the BJP’s National working committee (after her husband’s death) while anchoring. After that, she got many role offers and left anchoring and entered the acting world. She has worked with well-known actors such as Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill. She played the wife of Nawab Shah in the ‘Amma’ show aired on Zee TV. In the year 2019, she appeared in the web series – THE STORY OF BADMASHGARH. she was very active on various social media platforms such as Twitter, TikTok Instagram, and Facebook. In the same year, she appeared in a Haryanvi song- Bandook Aali Jaatni.
She was the national Vice president of BJP’a Mahila morcha and in charge of its scheduled tribe wing in Haryana, New Delhi, and Chandigarh. She worked at BJP in the tribal areas of Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. In 2019, BJP gave her a ticket to contest the 2019 Haryana assembly selections from Adampur.
CONTROVERSIES
Sonali received heavy criticism for her speech during a rally in the Balasmand village of Adampur in Hisar on the 8th of October 2019. at the rally’s tail end, she asked people to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and said that those who were not chanting must be from Pakistan. However, later she apologized for her statement. IN JUNE 2020, Phogar slapped the market committee secretary in Hisar which video goes viral on the internet.
