Dayalu Ammal was born in 1936. She is now 86 years old lady. She is the old widow of her husband, M Karunanidhi. She was only 12 years old when she got married. She is the second wife of her husband, M Karunanidhi. They were blessed with 4sons and one daughter. M.K. Alagiri (Politician), M.K. Stalin (Politician), M.K. Tamilarasu (Producer), and Selvi Geetha Kovilam are the names of their children.
In 1960, her husband got married to Rajathi Ammal in a secret ceremony, considered illegal according to the Hindu Marriage Act,1995.
CONTROVERSY
In 2015, Dayalu and 18 others faced a trial in the case in which ED alleged that almost 200 crores of illegal gratification were routed to Kalaignar TV. According to her doctor, she is not in the money laundering case as she is suffering from Alzheimer’s.
