Tina Dabi

Tina Dabi, the IAS exam’s first-place finisher in 2015, is the first woman from a Scheduled Caste (ST) to do so. She began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination in the first year of her degree since she had an ambition of becoming an IAS officer.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Tina Dabi is a Madhya Pradesh native , was born on November 9, 1993. She is from a SC Hindu family of middle class. Her mother Himani Dabi is a former Indian Engineering Service (IES) officer, while her father Jaswant Dabi is the General Manager of BSNL. Ria Dabi is her younger sister.
In 2015, at the IAS felicitation ceremony held at the DOPT office in Delhi, Tina first met Athar Aamir Khan, the man who would become her husband. During their IAS training at the Mussoorie institution, the “Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration,” they grew close to one another.
They also visited the Netherlands, Paris, and Rome during this time. She married Aamir on March 20, 2018, and he has since become an IAS officer.
After two years of marriage, the IAS couple submitted a mutually consenting divorce petition to a Jaipur family court in November 2020. Prior to this, Tina had changed the last name on her social media accounts to Tina, and Athar had stopped following her on Instagram around the same time. A Jaipur family court granted their request for a divorce in August 2021. She wed Pradeep Gawande, an additional IAS official who is 13 years older than Tina Dabi, on April 20, 2022, at the Hotel Holiday Inn in Jaipur.

EDUCATION AND CAREER

Tanu Jain attended Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri for her education. Subharti Medical College in Meerut is where she later earned her BDS degree. She began preparing for the Civil Service Examinations after finishing her medical degree and internship.

CAREER

She excelled in school and was quite brilliant when she was young. In her ICSE 12th-grade history and political science exams, she received a perfect score. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the “Lady Shri Ram College for Women,” New Delhi, where she received her diploma. She earned a 52.49% on her first attempt to pass the IAS test in 2016.
She began working as an Assistant Secretary on deputation for the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of the Government of India after completing her training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. She was originally assigned to the position of Assistant Collector at Ajmer, Rajasthan, in 2017.

Tina Dabi began serving as the Sub-Divisional Officer, or SDO, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, on October 26, 2018. She was appointed CEO-Zila Parishad in Sri Ganganagar in July 2020. She started working as a Joint Secretary at Jaipur’s Finance (Tax) Department in November 2020. She was appointed the 65th District Collector and Magistrate of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on July 6, 2022.
The parents of Tina have previously passed the UPSC Indian Engineering Services exams.
She has been interested in Indian politics and the constitution since she was little.
She excelled at debate in school and served as Vice Speaker of the Youth Parliament at her college (2012).She placed among the top students in Delhi University’s Political Science course in the first year of her graduation exams.
Tina received the Lady Shri Ram College award for “Student of the Year.”
She initially chose to pursue a degree in commerce, but she later changed her mind and decided to train for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. She enrolled for this at RAU’s IAS Study Circle in New Delhi, where she used to study nine to twelve hours every day according to a set timetable. After passing the IAS test, she decided to work for the empowerment of women and chose the Haryana cadre to do so. However, the two openings there had already been given to members of the Scheduled Tribe, so she had to settle for the Rajasthan cadre, which was her second choice.
