Dr. Anish Shah

Dr. Anish Shah is a Non-Executive Director of Tech Mahindra Limited the MD and CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and the Non-Executive Director of Tech Mahindra Limited.

Dr. Anish Shah is currently the Group’s Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer for Mahindra Group. He joined Mahindra in 2014 as President of the Strategy Group, where he led the development of the strategy; built-in functions such as digitization and data science; allowing synergies of group companies’ performance review organizations. Prior to joining Mahindra, Anish was President and CEO of GE Capital India, where he led the business transformation, including the transformation of its SBI Card joint venture.

EDUCATION

Anish holds a Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon’s Carpet School of Business, where he holds his doctoral dissertation in Corporate Governance. He also earned a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon and a postgraduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has received several scholarships, including the William Latimer Mellon Scholarship, the IIMA Industry Scholarship Scholarship, the National Talent Search Scholarship, and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.

CAREER

His career at GE lasted 14 years, where he held a number of senior positions in US and global GE Capital units. He also has various experiences in global companies outside of GE. He leads the American Debit Products Company at Bank of American. He began his career at Citibank in Mumbai before moving to Boston with Bain & Company as a strategic consultant.
As a strategic consultant at Bain & Company in Boston, he has worked in many industries, including banking, oil wells, paper, paints, steam boilers, and medical equipment. His first role was at Citibank in Mumbai, where he issued bank guarantees and letters of credit as Deputy Manager of Business Services.
